Procedure of the Breast Lift Surgery

Breast uplift is used to raise and reshape breasts surgically to improve their appearance sometimes using implants Breast drooping or breast sagging is a common problem following pregnancies, weight loss or ageing. Sagging occurs when the breast skin stretches, resulting in a less youthful appearance of the breasts.

Many techniques are used but the most common uses an anchor-shaped incision that follows the natural contour of the breast. Excess breast tissue, fat and skin are then removed and the nipples and remaining underlying tissues are then moved to a new higher location. The skin from both sides of the breast is then brought down and around the areola shaping the new contour of the breast and sutured in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple and along the lower crease of the breast.

Our Doctor performs also a "Doughnut mastopexy" which is a type of breast lift surgery that involves less skin removal and results in a significantly faster recovery time than breast lift surgery performed with the standard “anchor” technique. The scarring from doughnut mastopexy occurs around the circumference of the nipple and areola, and is often less noticeable than the vertical scars from the standard technique.
