Purpose of Ear Correction
is to correct the size/shape of the ears. The goal is to create a natural appearance, by bringing the ears back closer to the head (correction of the position) or reducing the size of prominent ears (correction of the shape)
Minimum age requirement
7-8 years
Procedure
Usually only a small incision directly on the back of the ear is needed. The ear cartilage is freed and can be modeled easily. Hypertrophy and the absence of the cartilage relief - usually a cause for protruding pinnate (prominent ears) - is corrected

Prominent ears frequently represent a substantial aesthetic disadvantage for the patient. Correction in early childhood may prevent peer and social problems, and enhance the child’s adjustment to school
